Una vez en Ayacata , todos los restaurantes y bares estaban todavia cerrados. Pero vimos un perro acostado. Estaba lamentable y tenia hambre. Llamamos a la señora que nos aviso ayer y preguntamos si era blanco/negro. Cuando nos contesto si, nos lo llevamos. En la primera revisión rapido pudimos ver que era una hembra, de menos de dos años!
Some tourists informed us about a dog around Ayacata (mountains), who was very dirty, abandoned and asking for food. Yesterday we received a call again and we decided to go up there (more than 1 hour driving!), early in the morning.
Once in Ayacata, all the restaurants and bars were still closed. But we saw a dog laying down. It was lamentable and hungry. We called the lady who informed us yesterday and asked her if the dog was black and white. When she answered with yes, we took the dog. In the first check we could see that it was a female, younger than 2 years!
Urlauber berichteten uns von einem Hund in der Gegend von Ayacata (in den Bergen), der alleine und schmutzig ist und um Futter bettelt. Gestern erhielten wir wieder einen Anruf und entschieden uns frühmorgens, dort hin zu fahren (über 1 Stunde Fahrzeit).
In Ayacata waren die Restaurants und Bars noch geschlossen. Wir riefen die Frau an, die uns gestern informierte und fragten, ob der Hund schwarz/weiß ist. Sie bejahte das und wir nahmen den Hund mit. Wir sahen, dass es ein Mädchen und sie jünger als 2 Jahre ist!
We putted her in a transport-box and quickly we went back to the south, because it got already very hot in the mountains! The lady (Gaby) who informed us was already on the way and was in Fataga with the car. We stopped over there to say hello. Gaby is on holiday here on the island together with her son Adam.
Wir setzten sie in eine Box und fuhren schnell zurück in den Süden, denn es war in den Bergen bereits sehr heiß! Die Frau, die uns informiert hatte, war mit dem Auto nach Fataga gefahren, wo sie auf uns wartete. Wir trafen sie dort um sie zu begrüßen. Gaby und ihr Sohn Adam verbringen ihren Urlaub hier auf der Insel.
Gaby and Adam were very happy to see Ayla, saved now from a life as a stray-dog.
Gaby und Adam waren froh Ayla zu sehen, die vor einem Dasein als Straßenhund bewahrt wurde.
Once home we had to take out hundreds of ticks she had. She was still dizzy from the many curves in the car. On top of her spine she had a lot matted/knotted hair..... stuck to the skin.
Als wir zurück waren, mussten wir hunderte Zecken von ihr entfernen. Sie war noch ganz benommen von den vielen Kurven, die wir fahren mussten. Auf dem Rücken hatte sie verfilztes Fell… mit der Haut verklebt.
The legs wet from vomiting...... the beard dripping from dizziness.
Die Beine nass vom Erbrochenen…. der Bart tropft vor Aufregung.
But that`s all over now.... clean, free of ticks, knots.... and finally smelling clean and not smelling to goats anymore. Here she is resting in a clean and soft bed, after eating, like this with her belly full!!
Aber das ist alles überstanden…. sauber, von Filz und Zecken befreit…. und letztlich sauber duftend und nicht mehr den strengen Geruch eines Ziegenbocks. Hier ruht sie in einem sauberen, weichen Körbchen, nachdem sie gefressen hat, mit vollem Bauch!!
